Robots are delivering medical goods in California

The US start-up for autonomous delivery vehicles “Nuro” has revised the software for their vehicles to help medical personnel in California contain Covid-19. The vehicles, called R2, are fully autonomous and can be opened to take food deliveries by entering a code on the vehicle’s exterior touch screen. Currently, however, the vehicles are delivering medical supplies to and from large sports facilities that have been temporarily converted into medical centers. A hand signal is now sufficient to open the loading flaps, as one employee is connected via livestream.
